Timing System:

We will be using the Championchip timing system for this event.

Course Marking:

From start to finish, for the most part all competitors will follow the sign posts for the Mourne Way and in areas where the marking is poor all participants must follow the course markings – tape on bamboo canes. We will ensure that the course is well marked to help runners stay on course. All additional course marking will be carefully removed after the event.

Check Points:

Between the start and finish of each event there will be official check points. At each check point participants will cross a timing mat which will record their split time to that location. There will also be a hydration / feed station at various locations along the route.

Ultra Marathon Checkpoints – these will be located at 8, 12, 20, 26, 32, 38, 44

Marathon Checkpoints – these will be located at the 6, 12, 18 mile markers

Half Marathon Checkpoints – this checkpoint will be located at the 5 mile marker

10K Checkpoints – None

Spectators

Family and friends are more than welcome to come along to this event to show support for people you know. The familiar voice of someone you know can make all the difference when the legs are burning, the throat is dry and there are still a few miles left to go! Supporters also add an atmosphere and additional energy to the experience for all the other participants and the crew. We will help advise spectators as to where the best locations are along the route to cheer you on.

Please Note: It is asked that spectators follow the recommendations of the organisers and avoid check points that are difficult to get to or that have limited parking in order to prevent bottle necks and congestion.
